Main Changes from Previous Models

The most significant improvement is the release of the RAM REV and the Ramcharger which are yet to be available to the public. According to the RAM Trucks website, these models will be release by the end of 2024.

It’s planned to be a very powerful truck with one of the largest driving ranges on the market. The Ram 1500 REV promises to come with a standard driving range of 350 miles – which is a great driving range if we compare it with the Tesla’s Cybertruck which offers 340 miles of standard range.

But what is even more exciting is that with a large battery of 229 kilowatt-hours, RAM promises to deliver up to 500 miles. These numbers, of course, are based on the manufacturer simulations, but it’s definitively thrilling to see the real results once this model is available.

  • Cons:
    • Other competitors offer higher max tow rates
    • No outstanding updates for 2024 models, until 2025 when is expected to come with surprising upgrades.

Overall, they recommend taking a look at the Ram 1500 Rebel with a V8 engine and the level 2 package, which includes remote start and parking sensors at the front and rear sides. A very complete truck to go anywhere or do anything.

Edmunds

Here are the highlights of what the experts at this car review site have mentioned:

  • Pros:
    • Interiors with nice technology features and ample space in the cabin
  • The optional integrated RamBox: You can lock it and the entire truck with just one button. Additionally, it comes with a 115-volt outlet to power up anything. Ideal for construction work or even a weekend of camping.

  • Cons:
  • The towing technology falls behind other competitors
    • No hybrid option with the capability to offer electric powerA capability that is found in the Ford F-150

In general, experts at Edmund’s recommend the RAM Laramie, because of the large option of engines to choose from: 3.6 liters V6 24V or the 5.7 liters V8 HEMI.

Additionally, the Laramine allows you to choose from ample customization interior options for a more lavish look.

The valuation and research car company also mentioned some important aspects:

  • Pros:
    • Comfortable ride
    • Ample space for storage.
    • The multifunction tailgate: You can choose between the traditional tailgate that you can flip down or the peculiar option that opens like passenger doors.

  • Cons:
    • Not as many options as other competitors in the same category

In short, they position this truck on the same level as the Ford F-150, the Chevy Silverado 150, and the GMC Sierra 1500. Other direct rivals of this truck are the Toyota Tundra and the Nissan Titan.

The Conclusion

Most of the experts highlight the extravagant and luxurious interior that the Ram 1500 offers this year.

This truck offers a very ample cabin loaded with several tech features. The 8.4-inch infotainment system comes standard in all models but can be upgraded to the 12-inch touchscreen in most trim levels.

The RamBox is a nice feature to have. It is always better to have more storage that is easy to access.

Among the downsides found in common are max towing capacity found in this model compared to other rivals. You can expect to get a max towing capacity of 12,750 lbs with a 5.7L HEMI V8 enginefor comparison, the 2024 Ford F-150 has a max towing capacity of 13,500 lbs.

Last but not least, the experts also consider as a downside the limited option of model and trims. If you are looking for a truck with a huge variety of options, you must check the Chevrolet Silverado.
