Last Updated 2 years ago

The world of electric vehicles is evolving rapidly, and automakers are racing to put out their best EV.

We’ve seen most of the biggest car brands taking their best sellers and offering an electric option, but now looks like everybody and their uncle are offering a new electric car: faster, fancier, cheaper, you name it.

The experts of Wired magazine have released “The 18 Best EVs Coming in 2024”, however not all of those cars have plans to be commercialized in the United States. Hence, here we will show you only those models that we expect to see at American dealerships in 2024.

In fact, there are some surprising results that come in only 3 wheels, yet reliable and available in the country this year.

We have already covered the electric vehicles you should not buy, so now let’s jump right into the 5 best electric vehicles coming in 2024.

Polestar 4

Polestar is a Swedish company that produces performance electric cars and is owned by Volvo. This year, the company has released the Polestar 4, and SUV fully electric.

There will be available two models: Dual motor (front and rear) and the single motor (rear). The Polestar 4 will also have a preliminary driving range of up to 300 miles – This is actually a great range, similar to the Tesla Model Y.

The price hasn’t been communicated by Polestar yet, but according to The Kelly Blue Book, they estimate it to be around $60,000 for the single motor and the dual motor version would be $10,000 more expensive.

This SUV is intended to compete with other luxury brands like the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron and the Cadillac Lyriq

BMW i4 2024

This year, BMW has overhauled its lineup, adding the i4 xDrive40 model with 396 horsepower at a starting price of $61,600. This model can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.9 seconds. Its battery Li-Ion allows this car to have a 307-mile driving range.

But, if this is not fast enough for you, BMW also has the i4 M50, the all-electric performance car. It has 536 horsepower capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.7 seconds. But everything has a cost – the driving range is only 269 miles max.

Volvo EX30

If you like SUVs, then you should take a look at this

Volvo is launching its smallest SUV all-electric, the EX30 in 2024. The starting price is $34,950 with a driving range of up to 275 miles.

And that is not all, as we mentioned the BMW i4 M50 goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, but the Volvo EX30 reaches 60 mph in only 3.4 seconds, and it’s cheaper than the Bimmer!

Volvo has equipped the SUV with Google technology. You can get access to Google Assistant or Google Maps directly from the car display. Another cool feature is the Par Pilot Assistant – Volvo promises that it can park your car for you by steering, braking, or accelerating automatically!

Nimbus One

Let’s be honest, nobody likes to be a third wheel – Nobody except Nimbus. The company with headquarters in Ann Harbor, Michigan, is offering a 3-wheel electric vehicle at a starting price of $9,980 or $200 monthly for those who just want to rent it.

As shown on their website, the Nimbus One combines the safety of a car with the convenience of a motorcycle and offers up to 93 miles of driving range – which can be perfect if you live in the city.

Something that stands out to us is the ease of charging this car. It comes with a charger that you can plug into a normal outlet at home. The time to fully charge it is about 5.4 hours, thus it would be a good idea to plug it in before you go to bed.

Porsche Macan Electric

Like many other automakers, Porsche is offering this year its best-selling SUV in a fully electric version.

The Porsche Macan comes in two different versions: The Macan 4 starting at $78,800 and the Macan Turbo which starts at $105,300.

And as always Porsche demonstrates the quality of its vehicles. The Macan Turbo has an impressive engine with 630 horsepower that can take this car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.1 seconds – making the Porsche Macan the fastest EV in this list!

Conclusion

It is very exciting to see how the number of new options for EVs are flooding the American market. The Nimbus One is a great option for those who are indecisive about whether to buy a small car or a motorcycle.

Volvo on its end is offering a great value for your money with the EX30, the acceleration of this SUV is comparable to that of a performance electric car. However, if you like Volvo but are looking for a more luxury SUV, the Polestar 4 is worth a look.

Last but not least, for those of you looking for a posh SUV fully electric, the Porsche Macan EV is the fastest and most extravagant (and of course the most expensive) EV on this list.
